The fickle, unpredictable and oft times violent goddess of waters, Kuari holds sway over all things that live, work,or fight over and in her sacred element. The patron goddess of the warlike seafaring nation of Sarmatia, she is beloved of the Amazon women, who along with sea dwelling creatures form the majority of her worshipers. Rumored to have once possessed a milder, gentler, nature,as well as a less monstrous form, myth holds that Kuari was driven to wrath during the events that transpired during the Darkening; most of all the corruption of her lover, Pyrhas.
Most mortal worshipers of Kuari are either Lizardfolk or Amazons, two distinct cultures that inhabit the nation of Sarmatia. Though once enemies, the clever matriarchal warriors and brutishly cold blooded swamp lurkers put aside their cultural and religious differences when their deity was threatened, and worked together to survive the Darkening. The bond they forged for survival and the honor of their deity has held through the ages, despite the stereotype of fickle water worshipers.
True to the nature of their goddess, the worshipers of Kuari are loosely organized, with no special hierarchy in their church beyond that of the priesthood, which is almost entirely female. Layfolk that worship her are free to serve her ideals as they see fit, though many seek the counsel of her priestesses in how best to accomplish their endeavors. The only real rules are to honor the sea before and after every voyage, and never to pollute the waters needlessly. The swift and merciless slaying of Pyrhas and Moloch worshipers is passionately and frequently encouraged.
*Ushadi clerics of Kuari may choose the Scaleykind domain in place of one of the domains offered here.
